# Before you start

You need admin access to your PrestaShop back office and a store that is already created.
If you have no technical resource in house, a web agency can handle the installation. The steps below can also be completed on your own.

On our side, we provide:
* The Core Checkout module `.zip` file [(download here)](https://corebycarlo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Prestashop-module-by-Core-Checkout.zip)
* A Core Payment sandbox access, for testing ([contact us](https://corebycarlo.com/contact/))
* A Core Payment production access, once your payment account is validated
# Step 1: install the module

1. In your PrestaShop back office, go to **Modules** then **Module Manager**
2. Click **Upload a module** at the top of the page
3. Drop the [Core Checkout module.zip file ](https://corebycarlo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Prestashop-module-by-Core-Checkout.zip)
The module installs in a few seconds. It runs in two modes, Sandbox and Production, which you can switch at any time.

# Step 2: connect your sandbox account

* Request a sandbox access from your Core contact. You will receive an email to set your password.
* In **Modules** then **Module Manager**, click **Configure** on the Core Checkout module.

  * **Redirect**: the customer is redirected to the payment page, then sent back to your store

# Step 3: test your payments

Place a test order on your store. Real cards do not work in sandbox. Use the test cards below with any cardholder name, any 3-digit CVV and any future expiry date.

* The full list of test cards is available [in our documentation.](https://documentation.corebycarlo.com/api-reference/overview/test-cards#test-cards)
* Then check that the order appears in your PrestaShop back office and that the transaction appears in your Core Payment dashboard. This is the test that confirms the Callback URL is correctly registered.
| Card | Result |
| ---- | ---- |
| `4360 0000 0100 0005` | Payment accepted, Visa / CB France |
| `5130 2900 0000 0009` | Payment accepted, Mastercard / CB France |
| `4000 0000 0000 0002` | Card declined |
| `4000 0000 0000 2180` | Do not honor |
# Step 4: go live

To accept real payments, your payment account must be opened:
1. We create your payment account
2. You sign the terms and conditions
3. You provide us the company details and documents (KY)
4. Once your file is validated, we notify you and you receive an email to set the password for your production account
Then go back to **Modules**, **Module Manager**, **Configure** on Core Checkout.

### Production card
* **Email**: your login email for the Core Payment production dashboard
* **Password**: your login password for the production dashboard
* **API key**: in your production dashboard, **Developer** then **Configuration**, **API key**, copy the key and paste it here
* Click **Test credentials and Save**.
Remember to also register the Callback URL in your production dashboard, as in step 2.
Finally, go back to the **General** card and switch **Mode** to **Production**.

✅ Your store is now accepting real payments.

* Make a first payment with your own card to validate the full journey end to end.
* You can cancel it from your dashboard.
